Joshua Brown is a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting in Richmond, IN. He has been collecting folksongs for over 35 years, and has performed in New York, New England, Indiana and Ohio, playing Appalachian and hammered dulcimers and clawhammer banjo. Steve Deasy is a singer songwriter and regular attender at Detroit (MI) Mtg. His song "Let Me Make Peace" (co-written with Lester Dore of Madison Friends Mtg) was recognized as a top 40 finalist in the 2008 Music To Life Songwriting Contest. Laura Dungan & Aaron Fowler both graduated with music degrees from Friends University in Wichita KS & continue to be active Quakers. Their performances weave together exciting harmonies & instrumnentation with themes of empowerment and social justice. EarthQuakers consists of 6-12 musicians/singers from the 3 Twin Cities Friends mtgs(+ one Methodist). They sing & play a variety of instruments at Quaker gatherings, nursing homes, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays. "Most of us are rather inexperienced but enjoy ourselves tremendously! Mark Judkins Helpsmeet of Eau Claire (WI) Mtg has been recording & broadcasting amazing interviews with a wide variety of Quaker musicians over the past few years. The programs are entitled "Song of the Soul" and can be found under Northern Spirit Radio.

Paulette Meier, a member of Community Meeting in Cincinnati OH, has just released her powerful Gregorian chant-like rendering of early Quaker quotes on a new CD, Timeless Quaker Wisdom in Plain Song. She was Artist in Residence at Pendle Hill in 2004-5. Her website lessonsongs.com describes her work with school-age children around peacemaking & Quaker Testimonies. She has led workshops at Quaker gatherings & schools on "Telling our Spiritual Stories through Song". The Quakercamp at Stillwater minuted its enthusiastic support for Paulette's powerful music ministry. Nightingales. Friends from Northern and Illinois YM gather in spring, summer and fall for a capella singing weekends. Kingston RI, Fri. July 6 - We will be taking part in another performance of "The Fire & the Hammer" - which Peter organized & we both took part in at New England Yearly Meeting last August.
